State Garden is a leading supplier of organic greens, most well known for their salad kits like Olivia Organics. Their products are distributed in grocery stores nationwide like Trader Joes and Whole Foods.

Lorrana Dasilva is the Head of Finance and has been with the company for over ten years. She supports key parts of the supply chain planning process at State Garden. As business expanded, so did the complexity of her work: more partners, more data, more pressure to plan accurately.

"As we expanded into more grocery stores, it started to become extremely cumbersome to build our gross margin report, which is critical for our business as it helps us determine how profitable each product and customer is, enabling better pricing and cost control."

Each month, her team spent days days pulling multiple datasets from NetSuite, manually cleaning and restructuring the data, and combining everything into a single report.

This workflow required stitching together data from a variety of sources—including revenue tables, general ledger transactions, shipment reports, and cost variance data—then applying complex grouping, allocation, and transformation logic.

While some steps were repetitive, much of the difficulty came from:
